چکیده

This paper presents a method to transmit live 3D videos in a soccer stadium and display them at remote PCs for users who watch soccer games. All processes are done in real time, including soccer scene capture with multiple cameras, image analysis, data transmission, and 3D video display. To generate and transmit 3D video via network in real time, each player is represented by “player-billboard” which is composed of one rectangle and associated live texture. Because a player-billboard does not require precise 3D shape reconstruction of each player, computation cost and data size required to generate live 3D videos are very low. In order to show the validity of our method, we captured multiple videos in a real soccer stadium and transmitted 3D video to remote multiple users simultaneously. The result proved our system can transmit 3D video at 15-24 [frames/sec] through the Internet.

A Method to Reduce Effects of Packet Loss in Video Streaming Using Multiple Description Coding

Multiple description (MD) coding has evolved as a promising technique for promoting error resiliency of multimedia system in real-time application programs over error-prone communicational channels. Although multiple description lattice vector quantization (MDCLVQ) is an efficient method for transmitting reliable data in the context of potential error channels, this method doesn’t consider disc...

An Efficient Hierarchical Modulation based Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Transmission Scheme for Digital Video Broadcasting

Due to the increase of users the efficient usage of spectrum plays an important role in digital terrestrial television networks. In digital video broadcasting, local and global content are transmitted by single frequency network and multifrequency network respectively. Multifrequency network support transmission of global content and it consumes large spectrum. Similarly local content are well ...

A Flexible Client-Driven 3DTV System for Real-Time Acquisition, Transmission, and Display of Dynamic Scenes

3D experience and free-viewpoint navigation are expected to be two essential features of next generation television. In this paper, we present a flexible 3DTV system in which multiview video streams are captured, compressed, transmitted, and finally converted to high-quality 3D video in real time. Our system consists of an 8 × 8 camera array, 16 producer PCs, a streaming server, multiple client...

Network Location and Risk of Human Immunodeficiency Virus Transmission among ‎Injecting Drug Users: Results of Multiple Membership Multilevel Modeling of Social ‎Networks

Background: Despite the implementation of harm reduction program, some injecting drug users (IDU) continue to engage in high-risk behaviors. It seems that there are some social factors that contribute to risk of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) transmission in IDUs. The aim of this study was to analysis the social network of IDUs and examines the effect of network location on HIV transmission...

Fast Intra Mode Decision for Depth Map coding in 3D-HEVC Standard

three dimensional- high efficiency video coding (3D-HEVC) is the expanded version of the latest video compression standard, namely high efficiency video coding (HEVC), which is used to compress 3D videos. 3D videos include texture video and depth map. Since the statistical characteristics of depth maps are different from those of texture videos, new tools have been added to the HEVC standard fo...
